Once Ben Voss and James Cuningham release their venomous humour, everyone is a casualty. No stone is left unturned in their political satire, Best Of Mamba - Director's Cut.
As is the nature of anything titled Best Of, the Best Of Mamba - Director's Cut contained some rehashed sketches that have not lost their sting. But new material, dominated by the current load shedding situation, was also thrown into the pot of hilarity.
The familiar Two Many Cooks heat it up in their kitchen and White Whine is omnipresent.
But when the two well-known stage comics are done cooking up a storm, "Shaiking" pans and stirring controversy, it's time to add more Zuma, I mean vooma to their show.
So they employ biting gags in the form of everything from the ANC's presidential race to the antics of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Manto Tshabalala Msimang and even poor old Derek Watts.
Best Of Mamba - Director's Cut is a raw and hilarious exhibition of stellar acting and superb writing.
The material was written by John van de Ruit and Ben Voss (who started the original Mamba series together) as well as James Cuningham .
This being Cuningham's first foray into the series, he did an outstanding job and kept the crowd in stitches.
Topics switched from politics and electricity to celebrities.
The recently deceased Heath Ledger in particular. The aghast crowd gasped when the duo broached the subject of the actor's untimely death.
And while this may seem like an act of acrimony on the part of the comedians, we did warn you: there are no sacred cows.
So go and see it if you enjoy laughing at yourself and others and, even if you are faint-hearted, see Best Of Mamba - Director's Cut for a good dose of reality.
